Summer 7's
Rugby Sevens or simply 7's is a faster pace format of the Rugby Union game with smaller squads (7 per side) and shorter matches (7 minute halves) played in a tournament format were clubs compete for a tiered championship trophy based on win/loss record and bracketing . Like Rugby Union, 7’s is played on six continents by some of the premier athletes from around the globe, however unlike Union, 7’s has recently been added to the 2016 Olympics. 7's Tournaments are all day affairs were clubs play between 5-10 matches depending on size, these tourney occur almost every weekend during the summer months around the Southeast. Saint Andrews RFC was born out of a traveling 7’s side and we continue that tradition every year by playing in four to five 7’s tourneys annually in the NC, SC and GA area.
